In My Gaming Girl Era

As you may have noticed from my past blog entries, I am all about trying the tools. I like to think of it as a techie version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears:
“This app doesn’t fit my vibe.”
“This one’s too cluttered.”
“But this one? This app is my new pride and joy.” 💅

So, grab your headphones and emotional support water bottle—because today, we’re going on an adventure through the Discord universe.

Now, let me be honest with you. I am no stranger to Discord... but have I actually used it before? Absolutely not.
Did I once have a crush who used it and I would sneak peeks over his shoulder while pretending not to care? …Yes. Don’t judge me. We’ve all had our “You Belong With Me” moments. Cue Taylor Swift softly playing in the background. 🎶

Anyway, flash forward to this week’s tech tool list and bam—there’s Discord staring back at me. First thought:
“Oh wow, I already have an account?”
Next step: reset the password, because I had no idea what it was.
Immediate regret: I apparently used to talk to my ex on here. Big. Yikes.
Naturally, I deleted that dusty old thread and swapped out our ancient selfie profile pic for literally anything else.

Once the emotional clean-up was done, I dove into the platform. And honestly? It was giving organized chaos in the best way. Discord is surprisingly easy to navigate. I explored a few servers, followed some cool creators, and even found my people on the music pages 🎧

To me, Discord feels like a more tech-savvy podcast-meets-chatroom kinda space. At times it looked like people were writing in code (or spells?), but somehow, it still made sense to this simple mind.

Now let’s get real—I probably won’t be hopping on Discord daily. It seems best suited for the gaming community, and your girl? No hand-eye coordination. Like, at all. So unless I plan on accidentally falling off cliffs in virtual worlds, I’m staying in my lane.

BUT… if I ever decide to venture into gaming territory again, I’m definitely coming back to Discord to find some gamer friends and pretend I know what I’m doing.

For now, I’m off to metaphorically burn some old pictures and blast some T Swift like the dramatic main character I am. ✨

Remember—every app is just one password reset away from a nostalgia spiral.

  1. I had a similar feeling about Discord. I had an account that I used maybe once or twice. There are quite a few servers dedicated to coding, Korean/Kpop, and Japanese/Anime, I felt like I was revisiting my Otaku/Weeaboo days lol.
